Dear Friends,

Please find attached the "advertissement-folder" of my book on the subtribe Chrysochroina (Coleoptera: Buprestidae). Many of you know the
problems with its publication: it was submitted in 2002 and was originally scheduled to appear in 2003, but due to the financial
problems of the first intended publisher the publication was delayed and finally abandoned at all. Fortunately, at the beginning of 2008 my
friend running a small publihing-house offered to sponsor the publication (in fact he published it fully at his own cost) and I have
the great pleasure to announce that the book have just appeared (the exact date of publication is 10 II 2009)! Several months ago I sent a
query to most of you, asking to preiminarily answer whether you expect to buy the book or not; I received many answers, most of them positive,
but about a half of the letters remained unanswered. Of course I know that many of the addressees of the present letter are not interested in
Buprestidae, or do not wish the book for other reasons, but perhaps you have friends who might be interested, or could you "recommend" it to the
library of your institution, or "promote" it in another way - if you can do, I would be very, very thankful; of course I am greatly interested in
possibly wide distribution of the book not only as usually every author is, but also because I would be very happy if the sponsor-publisher
receives back the generously invested money (it is so rare in this world...) or at least his losses are not very heavy.
The price of the book has not changed from that suggested in the"query": US$ 100 is even "nominally" the same, that in "euro" has been
but slightly modified (from 70 to 80) according to changes in rates of exchange.

Jacek (the publisher) just today leaves for a subantarctic sailor-trip and during his absence (several months) the activity of his firm
practically stops; to avoid delay in distribution of the book, I became his "quasi-agent" for this time, so please do payments on the
Gondwana-account given in the "advertissement", but send the orders to me (holynski@interia.pl or mariahol@miiz.waw.pl); please contact me also
in case you have any troubles in payment through "bank swift" - we could certainly find another way - or with any other question.
