Amanda Evans

I have recently begun work on a phylogeny of the Buprestidae, in cooperation with Brian Farrell (Harvard University) and Chuck Bellamy. I plan to generate both molecular and morphological data sets for use in phylogenetic analysis. In addition to addressing the relationships of the major lineages of buprestids, I will use the resulting phylogenies to study the evolution of host use in the group. Of particular interest to me are shifts in the tissue types exploited by different buprestid lineages and the role of host use in buprestid diversification.
