Whitley Award Certificate of Commendation for Best Zoological Series
The Whitley Awards are hosted by the Royal Zoological Society of New South Wales and are presented for outstanding publications relating to the fauna of Australasia (read more here). The joint award is for volumes 27.3, 29.5, 19.2A and 19.3B. The award will be presented at the Australian Museum on Friday 12th September 2003.

New publications on Australian buprestid taxonomy - click  
The catalogue summarizes information on three subfamilies, nine tribes, 29 subtribes, 76 genera, 1160 species, 25 subspecies and synonyms.

The majority of published references to these taxa are included. In addition, generic types species are listed and data on type specimens provided . This is the first true catalogue of Australian Buprestidae since the checklist of Carter (1929):

Future developments may include the publication of interactive keys and a collection of photos and drawings of representative Australian taxa.
